Farzana Afshan
Assistant Principal
Farzana graduated in 2016 with BA (Hons) in Primary Education (QTS). Following her graduation she began teaching as a supply teacher across many schools in West Yorkshire and worked within EYFS, KS1 and KS2. She then began her teaching career at Dixons Music Primary, completing her NQT/ RQT years and going on to become EYFS lead in 2019.
As EYFS lead Farzana lead the implementation of programmes such as the Nuffield early language intervention (NELI) and 50 things initiative within the Early Years. In Janurary 2022 she became the phase leader across EYFS and KS1. In addition, she also became a mentor supporting ECT’s, apprentices, student teachers and a Teach First trainee.
Farzana was successfully appointed at Assistant Principal in July 2022 and is leading the teaching and learning of Phonics across the academy alongside her existing leadership commitments and teaching in EYFS.
