The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  This is a core commitment and the Academy expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  In order to safeguard and promote the welfare of its students and ensure that risk of harm is minimised, the Academy employs a safer recruitment and selection policy which complies with national and local guidance.  The Academy recruitment procedures take every precaution to ensure that we are satisfied that the applicant is a fit and proper person to work with children.

If you are short-listed for interview, your referees will be asked to provide references before interview and you will be expected to provide proof of eligbility to work in the UK.  All successful candidates will undergo an enhanced DBS check.

If you know that you are barred from work with children (i.e. you are on List 99, the PoCA List or have a Disqualification Order, or from October 2009, that you are on the ISA barred lists), you should not apply to work with children.

Any job offer will be subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks.
